Data Insurance is the product of extensive research and development in conjunction with the insurance industry and data storage providers.  The journey started when it was observed that the insurance industry would not insure data centers against loss of the data they stored, and also generally restricted the amount of coverage they were willing to provide in traditional property policies.

As technology improved, more on-line data backup companies were created, however they also are unwilling to provide any substantial compensation in case data was lost.

Today, Data Insurance is able to provide the first insured on-line data backup service and policy that gives data owners the knowledge that they have secure backup and can receive compensation in case the data is lost – hence obtaining the ultimate in protection for their business.

Along the way, Data Insurance has established the first ever set of global standards and processes for the safe keeping of data, with patents issued in Singapore, announced in New Zealand  and pending in the USA, Europe, Australia, China, and India.

DI is at the present time in the final stages of beta testing in New Zealand, and will be operational in the Northern Hemisphere in the third quarter of 2011.
